Spellings

This week we will be looking at the use of an apostrophe with plurals to show possession.

If a plural ends in -s, then there is no additional 's' after the apostrophe. For example: The girls' changing room.

If a plural does not end in -s, then an additional 's' is added after the apostrophe. For example: The men's changing room.

Maths Factor and Spellings (-ful suffix)

Just a quick reminder that for maths homework, all children should be exploring the Maths Factor online, where there are many games and different maths activities to support work done in the classroom. To access the Maths Factor, go to www.activelearnprimary.co.uk and log in using the details in your child's planner. The school code is a6rx. If you have any problems using this site, please let me know!

Spellings (silent letters)

This week's spellings are words with silent (or sneaky) letters.

Spellings

As the final week of last half term was rather full of tests, I have decided to give the class another week to practise the 'double letters' spelling pattern words that they were given - as so few of them had a chance to learn them before half term!

Brigantium Trip

I hope you are all having a great half term break and have managed to enjoy the rare glimpses of sunshine!

Just a quick reminder that it is our class trip on Monday, when we will be going to Murton Park to experience a hands-on Roman day - what a great opportunity! I can't wait.

Summer Newsletter - I Am Warrior!

Here is our first summer term newsletter. Homework sheets will be going home tomorrow, so watch for them in the bottom of book bags and rucksacks!

Another smashing performance by Class 3 last week in their times tables challenge, they scored 488 as a class (and beat Class 4 on average score, too!). Great work, my superstars!

Times Tables

I am so very proud of all of Class 3 - they have been coming on in leaps and bounds in our Times Tables Challenge! We're really keeping Class 4 on their toes since they started doing the same challenge a few weeks ago. When we first started back in January, the class scored 146 in total in the minute. Today they scored a whopping 451, which is 70 more than just two weeks ago! Every single child has made super progress and should be really proud of themselves. Well done my Superstars!
